CLUB MEETING INFORMATION
Study Buddies Meal
Using proceeds from the annual Hero Hustle, our club contributes to Youth Services of Glenview/Northbrook.  Club members also enjoy supporting YSGN's Study Buddies program by making and serving a meal to participants each month.
Feeding the Unhoused
At the first meeting of the new year, club members made sandwiches which were distributed by Connections for the Homeless later that day.  It's the second time in as many months that a weekly meeting was devoted to this project.
Rotary Helps Keep People Warm
Glenview Sunrise Rotarians joined with the Rotary Club of Northbrook in its annual Coat Off Your Back campaign, bringing warm winter gear to people who need it.  Many of this year's items have been distributed to recent refugees who arrived without coats and other supplies needed to get through an Illinois winter.  Thanks to people throughout the community who donated these important things to help our neighbors face frigid temperatures safely.
Rotary Provides Water & Sanitation in Guatemala
The Rotary Club of Glenview Sunrise is supporting a project in northern Guatemala to bring safe water, sanitation and hygiene to the 85 families in a remote community, El Potrero.  Community members will be trained in the maintenance and governance of the system to ensure sustainability.  This is a cooperative project with the Rotary Clubs of Fort Collins, Colorado, and E-Club of Lake Atitlán-Panajachel and The Rotary Foundation in cooperation with Engineers without Borders, and will be completed for just over $50,000US. The community includes about 350 people who have raised some of the money to purchase the necessary land and who will provide unskilled labor for the tank and latrine buildout.
Holiday Gift Wrapping
Club members and friends helped out with Youth Services of Glenview/Northbrook's annual holiday gift program by wrapping up surprises for kids.  There are lots of ways to contribute; here's a link to the program: https://www.ysgn.org/holiday-gift/
Study Buddies Dinner
Rotarians regularly enjoy providing supper for the participants in Youth Services of Glenview/Northbrook's Study Buddies program.  It's a way to have fun together and with the kids while getting everyone in the program ready to work that evening.
